Take the Rapeseed Oil January 2018 Challenge
5th January 2018
It’s 2018 already! Have you begun thinking about your New Year’s Resolutions? If not, why not try something different this year and take part in our Rapeseed Oil January 2018 Challenge. Why? Because rapeseed oil contains less saturated fat than other commonly used cooking oils and fats.
Replacing saturated fats in the diet with some unsaturated fats such as rapeseed oil, as part of a healthy, balanced diet, has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood, which lowers risk of heart disease, therefore it is important to get most of our fat from unsaturated oils.
The Rapeseed Oil January 2018 Challenge
The challenge is to buy two bottles of rapeseed oil – one refined, often labelled ‘vegetable oil’, and the other labelled ‘cold-pressed’ – and use them in place of your normal cooking oils for the month of January and tell us what you think on our Rapeseed Oil Benefits Facebook page. If you already use rapeseed oil, then perhaps try and use it in different ways, such as the recipes below.
31% of people who took part in a survey by YouGov last year said that they wanted to eat more healthily in the New Year – that’s no surprise to us. However, a survey by BUPA found that 43% of people break their New Year’s Resolution within the first month. But don’t worry, we’re here to help.
Let’s make this January 2018 Challenge as simple and as easy to follow as possible. Below, we’ve included a few delicious recipes to help get you started with using rapeseed oil. Let’s try and complete our January challenge!
