Terry & George’s Top Five Tips for Using Rapeseed Oil
28th October 2016
Introducing Terry & George
We teamed up with pop-up restaurateurs Terry & George to celebrate the relaunch of the Rapeseed Oil Benefits website. The duo are made up of chef Terry Edwards, who has trained and worked under Michelin-starred chefs including Michel Roux Jr and Mark Hix; and George Craig, singer in indie band One Night Only, occasional Burberry model and foodie.
We invited food bloggers and writers to join us for dinner and Terry & George cooked up an exclusive menu. Now they’re sharing their foodie tips.

We asked Terry and George to share their top tips for making the most of rapeseed oil. Watch our video below to see what they had to say…
Terry & George’s Top Five Tips for Using Rapeseed Oil
Get baking:
Rapeseed oil is a great alternative for butter when baking cakes like our Lemon and Rapeseed Oil Cake. It reduces the overall saturated fat content and gives them a fabulously light texture and a subtle, nutty flavour.
Perk up your potatoes:
We love to drizzle our mash with cold pressed rapeseed oil to jazz it up, giving it a wonderfully golden colour and the most amazing flavour – sMASHing!
Store in the dark:
All cooking oils are sensitive to heat and strong sunlight, so storing rapeseed oil in a cupboard rather than on the kitchen counter helps maintain flavour and nutrients.
Dress up your dishes:
Rapeseed oil makes for great dressings, vinaigrettes, mayos and marinades. We like to marinate some meaty monkfish tails with rapeseed oil, chopped rosemary and a little crushed garlic.
Mix things up:
One of the best things about rapeseed oil is its versatility. It’s the answer to nailing the perfect roast potatoes, sizzling steaks, super stir-fries and much more besides.
